Title says it all. Trigger warning, obviously. NSFW tag just in case.

Anyway, this issue is getting worse with the Epstein files becoming a "media sensation." People genuinely think that rapists are attracted to their victims and it grinds my gears. 99.999999% percent of these people would fuck a piece of dryer lint if it made them feel sufficiently powerful.

Every time people go "Well how can they SA them if they aren't sttracted to them??" I want to ask them if they think people are sexually attracted to their fleshlights. Like, seriously? Why is it so surpising for people to learn that most predators are opportunistic? It's about vulnerability, not age—plenty of mentally disabled or unconscious/drugged adults get raped by the same type of people who go after children. It's power.

Power is definitely a factor, but unfortunately some people are also attracted to strange things. Or strange abnormal situations. And they don't care if innocent people get harmed by their actions.

Sadly, the Epstein files don't really shock me. The idea that a decent chunk of our species are sick deranged weirdos... and these traits get worse with power and money etc... yeah not a surprise. I really cannot stand humanity for the most part. I'm ashamed to be a human being most days.

Would it justify it anymore if they were attracted to their victims? These people are sometimes underaged and trafficked for sex. Whether they find them attractive or not, it isn't justified they should then just use them. Not to say you are justifying that motive of course.

I suppose being rather prudish, I'm not sure that being sexually desired is really all that much to do with respect or even consent either- always. It's just someone who wants to do something to someone else. Maybe the nicer people out there would prefer it to be consensual and better still- loving but, some don't seem to care. What's perhaps more worrying is those who are truly are all about power might prefer it if it isn't consensual.

The whole thing is just layers upon layers of twisted up. Underage girls procured for men when they legally shouldn't be making those kinds of decisions. Set up in an environment where it seems loosely consensual to then sometimes be humiliated by men who maybe don't even want consensual sex because they want to feel dominant.

That's what makes it so horrible though- they need a victim in order to feel poweful- presumably? Otherwise, wouldn't they just save their money and masterbate? I think it probably does make a difference to them that they f*ck a living thing and for those who get off on power- they likely want it to seem vulnerable or unwilling.

power plays a huge role, people take advantage of their victim becuase of how "easy" they are. people using childrens vunerability and lack of understanding, targetting the disabled, even older people, people who also suffer from mental illness. ive seen some victims never state who did it to them because of their huge following.

the epstien files, i certainly see it as power abuse and also how they use their wealth and connections to get whatever they want, kidnapping, traffiick, paying off parents, making false promises anf such. i hate how some people will try to justify what happened there, some people also just dont see how serious it is. ive seen tiktok screenshots of comments tgat treat it all as a fucking joke.

this reminds me. i sometime see posts and the person says they were sa'ed by a relative or somebody else close to them/family and comments would be full off, "i feel bad for ur assaulter/rapist" even ones like "damn, he mustve been deserpate/starvibg", "things that never happened", and more targetting their looks. it angers me a lot.

Yeah, but that isn't the variable that matters. That's my point. Plenty of kinky ass people exist, it takes more than some weird fetish to do this shit. So why do people bring it up so damn much?

No, it wouldn't justify it. But the issue is that focusing on potential attraction completely ignores rape culture as a whole. Rape culture is about power, not attraction, oftentimes not even pleasure. Rapists will genuinely put themselves through pain sometimes as long as the mental pleasure of assaulting someone is "enough."

The best thing my mother taught me as a kid, is that people who SA don't do it because they're attracted to you. Men don't SA women because they like women, otherwise lesbians would be dangerous as fuck considering they're allowed in woman-only spaces (for obvious reasons).

It's not just that I don't think discussing whether attraction even existed in the situation is beneficial at all—it's also that people think attraction exists as a baseline. It's their FIRST assumption! And it hurts victims of mass fetishization (trans people, racialized people, intersex people, disabled people, etc) by equating "chasers" and dehumanizing fetishizers to people who have a "preference/attraction."

I think it is very dangerous territory for media and political elites to blame this degree of exploitation on power and the powerful given that they are part of that pack. They're never going to blame themselves or accept accountability. They will frame the conversation around JE and associates being sexual deviants, and given that their agendas often seek to marginalize sexual and gender minorities, they're getting a 2for1 by doing so.

I think Epstein found the girls plenty attractive. It's not like an equally vulnerable nursing home patient or little kid would have the same appeal.
