I am a casual fan of Bukowski and have read a collection of his poems, but I had not really gotten into his interviews yet. Thanks for sharing.

I agree with most of what he says here. Maybe it's because my parents' marriage is a sham, but I look around and don't see too many other models of it worth emulating. I wonder if Bukowski would also agree that not only are people doing work mindlessly but that much paid work out there is of questionable value. Our modern society seems to be engaged in a myth that money always or even usually follows real value. It really doesn't take too much reflection to realize that's not the case. Millions of years of human life down the drain and to what end?
