Advice needed please! I can't for the life of me pass out from compressing the carotid arteries. Based on my research I have a general idea of where they are and can sometimes get dizzy but no pass out. Is partial still an option in this case? Would using a belt rather than a 10mm nylon rope be better as they are wider and will block a larger area?

Also confused by the place where it seems I need to constrict to practice passing out - below the jaw, on the sides of the neck - VS where to put the rope/belt once I attach it for the real deal as it seems most advise against putting it at the top of the neck.

Grateful for any guidance...

You really need to put your weight into it to compress successfully.
Anything less and you get headaches, red marks and the unpleasant feeling of failure. All bad.
Practice and you will know when you are doing it right for your setup.
I hope all goes well.

Thank you. Does position of the rope totally depend then and needs trial and error?

from my experience I didn't need a lot of pressure to pass out, just the right technique

Partial also is my preferred method. From what I gathered the thinner the ligature, the better. You don't want the pressure to spread out over a wider area.

Did my own research too and couldn't for the life of me find my exact spot. There's probably natural variance to where the arteries are at but having a very muscular neck probably does not help...

Before trying to get high from holding down the carotid artery I usually did a couple jumping jacks or walked around to get the blood flowing, then I gently placed fingers onto my neck to feel out where the strongest pulse is at, then I just pressed down all the way. In a matter of seconds I felt dizzy, really good feeling and hands got tingly. If I continued to press down for like 5-10 more second I would probably knock myself out.

Out of curiosity, did you experience gasping for air when starting to get dizzy?
