There are numerous descriptions of facial petechiae (tiny red dots - subdermal capillaries bursting from the increased blood pressure) arising from failed parial attempts, even if the blood vessels only were compressed for seconds. I have also read about brain oedemas happening as a result of the increased vascular blood pressure, has anyone read into this? How long would it take to occur, and can capillaries cause cerebral hemmorhaging? I would seriously appreciate it if anyone could defuse these concerns I have. <3

I was toying with this idea for about 10 days. Almost every day I tried to find my carotids. Some days yes some no I couldn't find them. I tried with a robe belt a few times too just I guess get the feel of it. Stupid knot wouldn't loosen and I almost blacked out. All and all I only had small red marks on my neck for a day if that.

This is not a method to just "test". I know people do and survive but also people end up messing up their lives worse.

things like petechiae usually depend on the person and the size of your.. vessels i think? i know personally i always get it around my eye area if i vomit, sick or induced. but its not common, and petechiae, in general, aren't really harmful, they'll go away. id describe it as a warning that theres is something else that happened, and if you don't know why they show up it could be harmful. cant speak on anything else but its not something that will stop me from inducing vomiting at least

The thing that freaks me out is the possibility of whatever you use to hang yourself breaking. I couldnt fit the rope around my doorknob in a way that Id be sure it wont slip, so I used a long hoodie string. I hung myself and as I was entering into seizures it broke. Woke up on the floor next to it. Had it broken a while after Id be a vegetable.
I think Ill put off killing myself for a while

My solution is to tie the rope to something heavy on the other side of the door. In my case it is an old heavy wooden coffee table but it could be anything else like a dresser or bed frame.

Just wondering... I tried to strangle myself with a scarf once. I had the blood vessels in my face feel full of blood, and it felt horrible. None of them burst; it was a horrible experience though, I just couldn't take it any more, and undid the scarf. Is this facial petechiae what nearly happened to me? And what happened? Did I only manage to constrict the veins but not the arteries, or what?

Sorry once again for replying late. Petechiae are red dots that appear on your facial skin after attempting. Those red dots are there because of burst capillaries. If there were no red dots on your face then you did not get petechiae. Petechiae in themselves aren't dangerous at all, however I don't know what happens to the capillaries in the brain which is what I was worried about in my post. Don't be alarmed by this, I think I am just being paranoid.

I just attempted partial today, and ended up with petechiae and subconjunctival hemorrhage. My head has been throbbing for the past two hours and sometimes I feel the urge of wanting to throw up even though I didn't eat food today.
