Partial suspension hanging

I can't get a shotgun and don't really trust any other firearm, so it's going to be partial suspension hanging. I want to know two things:
1) How long will it take to be brain dead? I want to make sure I'm not found in time.
2) What positioning of the knot should I do? I'm going to use a non-stretch rope and a simple knot.

From what I read online, it seems like you lose consciousness after a few seconds to a minute, then death can occur in about 20 min after that.

I would probably make sure you have a full hour for yourself. I would make sure not to be found anytime soon after because they can still resesitate you.
