Hello, fellows. Want to CTB this week when nobody will be in the flat. I have chosen partial hanging.

The whole mechanism is to throw the leather belt with a ring (with a thick middle-length screw in the last of its holes) over the door, then close the door. (I could bangle on such a construction for several seconds without tearing up the belt). Also I succeded in pinching my carotids with hands before and learnt what feeling should be while proper partial (thanks to the site). So the belt tights enough to cause that feeling and do not close airways (should be useful for skinny people like me (65 kg 184 cm high)), the legs should slide off to the direction opposite to the door enlarging pressure.

Is it reliable? Or should I change something?

hang on it with all your weight to test it. try and thrash around bc the body will. my fear would be the nail would tear through. depends on the quality and distance i guess. but i maybe try tying a simple knot in the end you throw over as well.

It is a decent advice, I will try it at a dinner break.

Just gave it a try. I jump on it, thrash around. It hasn't even stretched out. Think it is reliable way to go.
Thank you.

The interesting mention that I have got a twin. And my grandpa on mother's line had a twin. His brother had hanged himself 2 years before we were born and grandpa died 2 years later after our birth.

That certainly is interesting. I don't have any history of mental illness in my family - as far as I'm aware. Your method seems well thought out and carefully planned, I hope it works.

Can you please describe the feeling you get from compressing your carotids?

It is like you lost feeling in your arm during sleep, but it starts from your head (you feel your jaw like during anesthesia) and spreads throw your body. The vision getting black out like you pressure your eyeballs in the childhood "to see the stars" (but you feel no pressure, cause carotids will be closed). When you stop partial you feel the goosebumps all over your skin starting from legs and arms ending to head, the same feeling as you restore feeling to your arm after awake, but without pain.

Don't suppose you have a good diagram on compressing the carotids? I haven't succeeded myself even though it seems incredibly straightforward.

Are you skinny? If so, this could help: lay down on the sofa, so your body is horizontal and head is vertical (could use bed and pillow with the wall instead). The 2 front neck muscles will not be tensed in this position. Then put you thumbs down parallel between these muscles and throat (muscle-parallel thumb down on 1st carotid-throat-parallel thumb down on 1st carotid-muscle) just under the jaw (carotids where heartbeat is), lock your other fingers on the back of the neck. Then push the carotids with thumbs as hard as you can from front to back, stopping bloodflow, then you feel dizzy.
You can't kill yourself this way, cause in 10-15 seconds hands will automatically relaxed.

If you overcome your survival instinct, it is reliable. A solid leather belt is very effective. But the door must be also solid. Some interior doors are very poor. Only from paper and slim boards. But you can simply test the load capacity. The main home door should be safe, it is massive wood.

Great that it worked for you!! We're of the same build (66k/178cm), but these carotid bitches are still too deep to reach easily. Stuffy nose - yes. Face goes pumping - yes. Blackout - no. But its all good... :/
