I'm sorry if these have been asked before, but there is a lot of conflicting opinions. Is a 3/8 inch double braided nylon rope ideal? Also, is a slipknot best? I'm thinking of using a doorknob to hang but I'm not sure if that will work either. Sorry if I'm firing off questions but I want to get this right.

My cousin tied a rope to a clothes rod in a closet and just leaned forward.

That is the rope I have. If I get the courage to do it. I will tie the rope to doorknob and throw it over the top of the door to opposite side then close and lock the door. Is that what you were thinking of when you say hang from doorknob?

Oh ok I thought there was another thread that you were talking about. Sorry about that. This is just the main hanging MegaThread. I was confused cause you called it the rope method thread.

And succeeded to ctb?
Is there any other info you can provide?
Yes successful. I guess he was very determined. His mother found him. I think he was being picked on in school and online.

He waited until his parents were at work, he tied a rope (have no idea what kind) around his neck (have no idea what type of knot, some slip knot I'm sure), tied the other end to the clothes rod in the closet, and leaned forward. I really don't know this, but I assume he may have placed his feet near the back of the closet where the floor meets the wall as, sort of, an "anchoring point", and then simply leaned forward. This way, in my estimation, when he leaned forward, he would be at a greater angle than simply standing immediately below the clothes rod and leaning forward from there. Possibly in almost a "laying face down" type position, if you can picture what I mean. But, I wasn't there and it was difficult to get any information from the grieving parents. I ended up getting most of my information from the mom's sister, who was, eventually, able to get her to talk about it after time went by.

my experience with partial is that as long as ya got the sweet spot and the rope / anchor is solid then its pretty bulletproof. First time trying it I passed out in 6 seconds with no pain and was still able to breathe. I was drinking a ton of alcohol and huffing a lot of nitrous oxide so maybe that helps. I think the nitrous oxide increases odds of compressing the cartoids because it dialates the veins making them easier to find / put pressure on.

What was your set up and position?
Did you lean forward or just drop your body weight straight down?
