Today I've tried (only a try) partial hanging by putting my belt on the doorknob. I put my head inside the noose, the belt above my adam's apple, and I pulled forward. But I DIDN'T FAINT. Why?

Not enough pressure on the carotid arteries. If I knew how to pass out perfectly then I wouldn't be here right now. All I can do is keep trying, different positions, padding, whatnot and hope I get it eventually.

So, Prettynoose, how many times, or since when, have you been trying? I'll try again but I don't know what else to do. The belt is above the addam's apple and I'm pulling forward.
I don't want to do full hanging. I want to get right partial hanging, because when I decide CTB I don't want surprises.

Partial hanging is notoriously hard to get right. So many posts here from people wondering why they can't get it just right enough to pass out. Like Prettynoose said, not enough pressure on the carotid arteries. Most people feel a pressure building inside their heads that is more than enough to make them back out, therefore a failed attempt. There are YouTube videos about how to get it right though, if you are ok with that being in your search history.

@Deathbydemo Do you mean the one where that man demonstrates with a woman passing out, specifically? Or some other specific videos.

I watched a really informative video one time on why people fail so often with partial hanging. It was very insightful and could be useful for future attempts. If I find it, I will link it here.

I suspect it has more to do with SI and the psychological impact of the act rather than the mechanical aspects of disrupting the circulation to the brain. Hanging is not rocket science, yet I could not get myself over the [mental] precipice.

Yep SI was heavily mentioned. I wish I could find the video but it doesn't appear to be on YouTube anymore.
