I don't think there's all that much point comparing things. Sure, they could have been worse for you or, any of us most likely but then, whatever it was, hurt you. That's enough to make it relevant.
I don't know whether it would make it better or worse to analyse why it cut so deep. What insecurities did it throw up? Do they still impact you today? Maybe that's something to address. If you can address your current behaviour- because of that event, maybe it will start to release its grip on you. That's definitely something I should have done anyway.
