Hello, what happens when a package gets seised? Do you get notified or something, if yes, how?

I think that varies from country to country. In which country are you? Here in Germany you get a letter with all the details. Then you have the possibility to pick up the parcel from the customs office, if you can show an invoice for the value.

If it's illegal to import just deny knowing anything about it and they'll drop any possible charges.
