Considering I'm pretty disabled (though I can get up, walk around etc. but don't have a car and can't drive anymore), if I were to get a cab or Uber to the beach in the middle of the night, like 3/4am, would that arouse suspicion in the driver?

It's highly doubtful they would care. They might try making some small talk in the car, and in the course of conversation may ask you what you plan on doing that late at night, but unless you told them you are suicidal it's unlikely they would really pursue such a conversation very far.

Are you planning on ctb on the beach? If you don't mind my asking, what method would you be using?

I have SN at home, but am just scared of using it; seems like there's too much propensity for things to go wrong. But everything is falling apart now and I'm getting desperate. I know it probably sounds overly idealistic, but I live pretty near to a big pier and had considered getting a cab there and just diving in (I wouldn't be able to save myself, since I can't swim in my current state). I guess it's my back-up 'impulsive' method.

You'd rather drown than simply fall asleep with SN?

I live with my family and am extremely paranoid of the SN not working, or being found. As I've mentioned a few times here, my health is extremely poor and if I was discovered or SN failed, and I ended up in a psych ward, I would very likely die in there, which would be awful. That almost happened when I OD'd two weeks ago.

Drowning is kind of a fantasy of mine, and I'm sure would be so much more horrific when actually experienced. The advantage, I guess, is that it would pretty much be guaranteed .. like once I jump in, that's it, since I'm too frail to swim or save myself.
I'm just trying to think of ways I can do it while being pretty much housebound, on a kind of urgent timer (since situation is getting dire) etc. Really wish I could just die peacefully in my bed, but yeah SN doesn't sound all that peaceful and carries risks.

My 2 cents is that drowning, in general, isn't a very good idea... it will be more painful than it's worth in my opinion. Also, I'm not sure where you live but in a lot of places around this time of year the water can be very cold, which will add additional discomfort. Also, I kind of doubt that death is guaranteed from jumping in. I've seen a few piers in my life and they usually don't go THAT far out into the ocean. You may be surprised at what your body can still do when survival instincts kick in, not to mention the fact that the tide may carry you back to shore.

SN seems like a much surer bet, but there are plenty of methods which would be better than drowning... exit bag and gunshot come to mind.

My sympathies for the hopelessness which has brought you to this point. I hope you find a way to get out of pain, in whatever form that relief comes.

Damn. I figured drowning would at least be a surefire way. I don't have the time or money or resources to organize an exit bag and guns aren't allowed here. As I'm disabled and desperate the only other thing I can think of is partial hanging. I found a spot in the house that will seem to support my weight ...
