I love the sound of the French language, even though I only know a handful of words and phrases. I don't think this message was meant to be rude either.
I recall visiting the Dordogne region as a teenager with my family. It's a beautiful place, I would go and live there in a heartbeat if I could. I've always said if I ever become rich, I will own a second home there.
We stayed in a little house that my stepbrother had built up from ruin. I remember going outside one night while we were there, with the intention of looking for the little lizards that shot up the walls, but I was in total ore of the pitch black, the unpolluted night sky. The Milky Way streaking across the top of the world, I'd never seen a sky like it. I just lay there on the chair looking up, meteorites shot through the sky, you could see the whole universe from that place. It was and still is the most beautiful thing I have ever seen in my life.
This is one of the memories I will try to think about as I leave this world, my stepdad was there, him and my mum were happy. Cancer stole him away not too long ago.
