Do you hate when you post something and people online don't understand and say something completely different it really irritates me, I know it can happen in real life too but I hate it when people don't understand what it's like when you try and explain

Happens to me all the time IRL and it's really frustrating. I find it happens all the time with doctors. So much so that my medical history on paper doesn't accurately represent me. I try different ways of explaining things but always feel like I must be saying it wrong. When I stop and really think about though, I think there's definitely an element of things being lost in translation. Everything is open to interpretation and people will steer towards what's familiar to them what's in their preconceptions. It's unfortunate that these often don't line up with fact. It's actually a phenomenon that has a lot to answer for as I'm certain that wars have been fought as a result of it. It happens a lot onlone because body language, inflection and tone are taken out of the mix which makes it a bit of a dice roll. So yeah frustrating fact of life we have to kind of live with. Best you can do is be as elequent as possible. The rest is in the eye/mind of the beholder. If you don't manage to correct their perseption by explaining it on the 3rd try I reckon it's best to let it go. It's draining and I personally really struggle with repeating myself as I put a lot of weight on my word and find it perplexing when people throw their words around with 'gay abandon' and change their view in the next breath.

If it is a genuine misunderstanding then I do not have an issue, because it can be difficult to interpret what others say online, or in real life for that matter - we all do it. What I do have an issue with, though, is when another person deliberately misrepresents what you are trying to say.

Person 1: "I prefer pizzas myself."
Person 2: "So you hate hamburgers? Is that what you're trying to say?!? Why are you being such a hater?!?"
