"Grieve not for the dead, grieve for those who are still living"
I'm trying to figure out who said this. For some reason my mind has a video of Albus Dumbledore saying it to Harry in the movies, but I don't think he did.

Google quotes 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14, but I don't really think it's the same thing.

I suppose you could interpret this to mean focus more on caring for the people who are alive and grieving, instead of focusing on the deceased. Because you can help people who are alive, but you can't help people who are dead.

I prefer the more simple interpretation that life is awful and the people who have passed away are free of it.

I don't grieve for the dead at all as they are free from any future suffering and harm that could happen to them. However, those who are alive are not free from the harm's of life and they could randomly suffer in excruciating pain one day due to life being so cruel to them. This quote makes so much sense to me as it really should be the living that should be grieved as they are the one under threat of prolonged harm

You would love this verse Ecclesiastes 4:2-3: But better off than either are those who have never been born, who have never seen the injustice that goes on in this world. By the way glad your still here I thought you had ctb'd

Yes- Dumbledore said something similar. He refered not to grief but pity:

Bit yes- it makes sense- kind of. I suppose it depends on what happes after death. If it's nothing though- then there's nothing to pity them for. Their suffering is over.
