God doesn't care

Around a month ago I was spending most of my time just staring into a wall and praying to die. I had barely energy to play games anymore, they justs didn't give me the same joy as when I wasn't so fucked up. I didn't watch any series or anything like that. I wasn't even watching porn, because I was too numb to feel any pleasure and it just reminded me how this world rejected me, just knowing that all those girls wouldn't like me anyways makes it hard to find it enjoyable.

It's very hard place to be. But recently I got a lot into dark souls and played it non stop. It started with Elden ring, then I played ds1 and now I'm on ds2. It doesn't just feel like a fun videogame to me, it's too challenging for that. it's in a way like a chore or a duty, but on in a bad sense of the word. I get a feeling of accomplishment.

I noticed that it didn't gives me the same joy as when I used to play Hollow knight (my first souls like) few years ago, because I can barely feel any joy now. But dark souls is something that I want to finush, before I die.

I'm scared that once I finish it I will be back in that bad spot. But that is just inevitable.

You can still play DS3, Bloodborne, Sekiro, they are all from the same developer. Bloodborne is my favourite

yea sadly it can that way. For me when I played Eden Ring and recently Sliksong I didn't really enjoy as much as of being more depressed then and cus of playing other souls games before (like I played through Dark Souls 1-3 and Hollow Knight when I was 13-14). Its just harder enjoying anything now than ever cus of more bad things happening to me and everything being more samey as its harder to find more new unique experiences as time goes on.

I have only really been able to get to a similar level of joy back when I was younger from playing games that are more different to me (For me that being more story-driven games and less on gameplay such as OFF and Coffin of Andy and Leyley) tho sadly like everything when its finished I become empty again but If you wanting to occupy yourself more and feel more joy for a bit longer then maybe try something that you aren't familiar with after you finish through the rest of the souls-like games you want to play.

By no means can these games "save your life", like how so many clickbait video titles claim. The people that say this probably had other factors influencing their mental state much more, and maybe Dark Souls was just a little part of it. That being said, they are really really good games, and I consider Elden Ring the best video game currently by a pretty large margin, second being DS3. I recommend you also try Salt and Sanctuary, it's pretty good.

These games are really hard to replay for me though. I have almost 1500 hours in Elden Ring, but more than half of that was me putting down my co-op sign and killing bosses/running dungeons with strangers in their worlds. Actually replaying them myself is pretty hard and I don't have that motivation for, well, anything right now)
