Context: I stopped working and decided to go back to college. Used my savings to support myself. After I failed college and dropped out, I got a credit card and ended up maxed out on my credit card for leisure and food/bills, college.. within 2 years. I don't really deserve pity, since I took money that I no longer am able to pay back. Being broke and in debt is from my own choices and neglience. I do not recommend spending credit card money you can't pay back. But, yea, that's how it is..

Realized that I wanted to CTB after failing college a third time and had no drive to continue working.

if you're still alive (and healthy), you can participate in paid medical studies (clinical trials), they can pay anywhere from $5,000 - $20,000. The higher paying ones tend to take months, but it's worth looking into if you're in desperate need money.

Well, I'm sure there are plenty of people out there who fall on hard times and end up becoming homeless, which, in its essence, is really about financial reasons, at least in most cases. Maybe the poster we are talking about has no income at, all and is 500K in debt, and is about to become homeless? That might be enough to do it for me, too. If I had income, though, and 500K in debt, I'd go for the bankruptcy first, and try and start again. Of course, that's assuming that there's not any other pertinent reasons that I need to CTB.
