My therapist keeps telling me to stop putting the feelings of others first to get better when the truth is that it is the only thing keeping me from my bus.

Though I don't get taking seriously anyway when I say how bad I feel.

I was on meds during my last bad depressive episode and I just slept all day so that isn't it.

Sports and hobbys just drain even more energy.

Socialising is so bad I need recovery days.

Is there anything helpful at all?

You might try to call a local hospital and see if any of the nurses know of a self help groups that you could attend. These groups (not always) tend to be more tolerant and might offer an opportunity to learn better social skills. Increasing activity diversity can sometimes help reduce depressive episodes.

I agree with that. I've been in a monthly support group for just over a year (it meets virtually) and the others are all in different stages on the journey. It's was difficult to see a couple of them them unburden and in tears when I was still new. .. that made me uncomfortable. But at a recent meeting I was the one in tears, so yeah there's that.

And yes socializing is exhausting. I'm with you on that. But it seems to be important for a lot of reasons.

I been trying to work on not taking care of others for many many years with therapist, while there some progress i can relate it being really hard thing. For me It coming from needing take care of parent emotional needs growing up.

As others mentioned groups might be option - however from experience I would recommend closed therapy groups where you can work on your things without worrying new people you not know joining and there being same people every week.
