Hi all, I'm a new member here. I'm female, in my 30s and from England. I have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder and borderline personality disorder. I struggle with my mental health daily, and have contemplated suicide and attempted in the past. Can't talk about this with family, and I don't have many friends. I guess I'm here to talk. I have no plans at the moment but as well as depression and severe low moods I'm also going through some hardship as well so it is a thought and a comfort in my mind to know I can end the pain. Anyway, hello, feel free to comment and introduce yourselves.

Hello and welcome!
I often come here when I have to discuss things of this nature and other people around me will not/can't talk about it. If you have no plans and want to talk there is a recovery and offtopic section, that may be more the kinda place that might help. Especially talking things over (I am not very good at that but others are lol). I hope you find what you're looking for :)

While I myself do not have bpd, two of my friends suffer with it. Their pain is profound and seemingly medicine-resistant. Both are very bright, as most folks with bpd are and can be very intense, though never offensively so.

Welcome. I'm a newbie too, that doesn't have a time or method set up yet. It is nice to just come on here sometimes to see that others are in the same boat and I don't feel so alone. For the most part, everyone here is nice and are helpful. you don't have to guard your words so that makes it very freeing. As others have stated, you can p.m. me as well, at any time. I am in Central Time Zone in the US and a Severe night owl. Welcome again!

Hello! I also have bpd and find it very reassuring talking to others with the same diagnosis. What help have you been offered so far? I'm on a waiting list for therapy xx

It is very challenging and I believe meds do very little. I'm also very intense and have crossed a line or two but never intentionally x

Hi Voila, I've received meds, meds, more meds and an increase in meds. Not much in way of therapy, there's a waiting list here that's ridiculous!

People with bpd, I have learned, feel intensely, no matter what the object. It could be relationships, it could be their professions, it could be their private sessions. Let me rattle off a list of names, please: Lawrence of Arabia, Marilyn Monroe, Beethoven, Britney Spears, Adolf Hitler, to name but a few. They are special people, with special needs/visions.

My late wife was bpd and very bright. Her career as a software engineer, in a male dominated profession at the time,,took courage, stamina. Despite her bpd, I miss her terribly.
That I included hitler in this list should make no difference.

I feel so much so often, all the time. In some ways it feeds my creativity and I appreciate that, but it would be nice to turn things down sometimes because feeling so much all of the time is exhausting! I unfortunately haven't met anyone who can cope with me let alone marry me, I'm glad your wife found someone I'm guessing who loved her not only in spite of but because of her BPD? We are a fragile breed, but when we love we do so with all of our being.

BPD too. I have lived long enough with major chaos it seems every day of my life. I am middle age now and I have lived enough, I think. I can hardly bear it now.

I can totally relate, I feel the same. Chaos is a very apt word to explain BPD, I feel as if it follows me no matter how much I try to lose it! Feel free to message if you ever want to talk to someone who gets it!

Bpd folks embrace living in all its aspects, from the small moments of daily social interaction on up. Rather to think of them as hyper intuitive. Yes, intensity seeking can become a problem but only if it causes more problems for the victim. Bpd people live as if it is their last day on earth

Hi, my name is pan. I recently lost my dear wife of 25.5 and am convinced that bpd and bipolar disorder precipitated her rapid decline. In an effort to understand, I did a considerable amount of research on this sometimes baffling disorder (am a retired Librarian/ archivist). Based on my own, personal familiarity with the disorder. Allow me to name drop here: Lawrence of Arabia, Andy Warhol was, Judy garland , Marilyn Monroe, Beethoven, Van Gogh, Jackson pollock, Madonna, the list could go on and on and on. This is because people with bpd are brighter than most.

Folks with bpd definately pay the ultimate price for their intuitive and intellectual gifts. But don't stress over it, or at least try not too. Which would you rather be—a dead clone or a fully alive and intense person, who feels and analyzes very deeply? Better that then one of the walking dead any day of the week.
