Hello, everyone. Long time lurker, first time member.

My method will be partial suspension (semi standing position), using a rope with no elasticity, and a door knob. As soon as I'm alone in the house for a good amount of time, I will go through with it. Can't tell you how much I've read and obsessed over this method. I know everything I need to know at this point.

I guess what I'm wanting is some reassurance, support, and just to talk to like minded people. This method cannot fail; I need it to work. Also, feel free to ask me any questions.

Thank you very much.

Doorknob with the rope tossed over the door right? also, lock the door.

This method is very difficult to pull off in my experience but it should work if you fully commit and don't back out. It's hard not to stand up and back out during the attempt.

Welcome, I lurked for a while and joined several days ago also. I'll also soon be going with partial suspension but using the metal bed frame in a vertical position (it's pretty sturdy).

Is there a particular type of knot you recommend when tying the rope to the thing to hang yourself off of?

and what if you stand up during the attempt?
I nearly drowned once and the only thing I could think of was getting air into my lungs, the pain was excruciating

I think either a slip knot pulled tight against door knob should hold ok, or a truckers hitch. I plan on using slip knot around neck, and using drugs and alcohol to help me pass out. Once I pass out and start to fall, the rope tightens, and hopefully its lights out permanently. If the partial fails, I'm going with full hanging.

Makes sense. The trucker's hitch looks a bit finicky for me ;)

Its my second favorite (inert gases go first)..

I think for every 1 person hanged there must be 5 to 10 persons who secretly practice autoerotic asphyxia.
And that means they find pleasure in it, not pain and discomfort. Sometimes they just go too far.

Hence, its doable, but takes practice. I'll write more in a few days after trying different techniques...

Can you link some of the best info sources? I would like to learn more about it, thanks.

Also, as others have said, I hope you succeed and it is quick and with minimal pain. Peace

You are correct, and thank you, I was going to ask whether or not to lock the door. :)

Nothing special, just going to tie three knots and hope for the best. I truly hope it works out for you.

I've rehearsed it several times to get myself mentally ready for the actual attempt. I think I'll be fine.
