You may have noticed it does not look like SS at all.

That site is an old .onion website, which happens to also be called SS. As far as I'm aware, it has no relation with this site (though I find that a bit hard to believe). I'm not sure if the site currently still exists.

This site was created in 2018.

I doubt the article was talking about the onion site, as it mentions SN (not really a thing in 2015), it shows a picture of the modern SS icon, and the article was posted just a few days ago.
