This is what happened to a guy on this reddit thread. Please don't do that as not only would you fail your attempt, but also cause more trouble for yourself. While he is fortunate that his neck injuries wasn't incapacitating, it could easily have been in another instance, thus rendering him alive in agony and a vegetable for life. Also, it appears that he would no longer be able to CTB via a firearm anymore as it is likely he would be involuntarily committed and lose his firearm. 
Therefore, if he is to reattempt in the future, he would have to choose another method, which may be less reliable and/or less accessible.
Furthermore, the responses in that thread is just digusting, especially the proselytizing one about religion! Anyways, just remember to keep quiet and only operate a firearm as sober as possible (maybe only some alcohol for courage, but certainly not drunk!)
