Pentobarbital is nembutal, 3 g is very low dose the suicide clinics use 15 grams, it will render you unconscious but death would occur because of the bag, no doctor is going to prescribe pentobarbital, the cost of such a prescription has risen to 3 grand, or about 15,000 for 15 grams. Also the person writing that didn't know what they were talking about metocloprimide antiemetic must be used.

Also, pentobarbital can certainly be potentiated with alcohol. The handbook mentions ways to potentiate N. But the reason this method is so insistent about it is the low dose.
