I'm not ready to CTB right now, for various reasons that I'm still trying to make peace with, but I'm still doing my research. The two methods I've pretty much settled on if the time comes is N (or Secobarbital) or SN. There are a lot of actual videos of N or Seconal and it looks like a pretty peaceful way to go - ingest and the person is out within a minute or two and I've never seen any vomiting or people who appear to be in pain, etc. I haven't actually seen any videos of SN, but I've read through many of the accounts of those people who have either witnessed or "heard" it happening, and it 1. Seems to take a lot longer to lose consciousness and 2. There seems to be a many instances of vomiting or seeming uncomfortable, moaning, body movement, etc.

I'm fully admitting that I'm not a well researched as a lot of the people here on this site...I guess that's why I'm here. But why is SN the most popular choice over the other two methods mentioned? I'm terrified of beginning something I can't stop and having it be painful, and that's why I'm asking. Of course I realize that no death is going to be without any type of fear or pain...maybe was people hear/see with SN is something that the actual person taking it doesn't feel at all.

Thoughts?

It comes down to availability. SN is easily obtained for most. Barbiturates are extremely hard to get by comparison.

Cost is a large factor as well. Some pay upto $1000USD obtaining barbiturates, sometimes more depending on whether they traffic it themselves or not. Some people pay $10 for their SN.

There is still a risk of vomiting ingesting N, as your body will recognize it as poison. So, it's important to take the proper antimetic.

Seco is used in Canada and I'm pretty sure the US as well. These substances are under great control. I doubt many would be lucky enough to obtain any of those supply without going through the actual government approved process. The only truly viable options outside of veterinary nembutal are Chinese labs which produce chemicals on demand, powdered N sold on DNM, or synthesizing it oneself.
As far as nembutals properties, there are other barbiturates, short, medium and long acting. Nembutal is short acting and that's why it's preferred. I believe medium acting can also be used without difficulty, but long acting definately requires the use of diazepam. Medium might even require diazepam as well, I can't remember off the top of my head. Diazepam is relatively easy to come across compared to barbiturates. So, if a person can get their hands on any barbiturate, even if it isn't nembutal, it is workable and can still be peaceful. Of course, most are likely to come across nembutal.

Comparison of the two methods is something that made no sense. I see it on that way.
Sodium Nitrite is a toxic and a barbiturate is a drug, would be like to have a gun and to hit yourself with a stick on your head. Both are deadly, but one of them so better than another.
Seconal or secobarbital must be impossible to get, and Pentobarbital already is hard to get.

I am not totally sure about but I think SN kills you by oxidation or any similar process which I do not know how it works. I have read some reports, autopsies and I do not understand it..................today, maybe tomorrow I will get it.
Barbiturates are known for a long time. There are so much information about how do them work.

If you ask me what will be choosen method, a barbiturate sure. But availability is a big problem, I know.

SN works by changing your blood cells making them unable to carry oxygen. Your lungs are inhaling normal o2 with no co2 buildup in the air detected by your lungs, so your body doesn't panic like it normally wound when starved of oxygen. Heat rate and pulse still adjust however as the available oxygen in your blood dwindles.

Thanks for the information.
I read a couple of autopsies, but it shows as accidents and intoxications, strictly not suicides.
Like a huge anemia.
But as I said Sn is a method what I am not to be clear how works....

The price and the fact that it is easily available make SN popular. But if you have the money and ready to take the risk then don't hesitate. N/SN are two different things when it comes to a peaceful death.
