I found a camera by my bedside the other day thar was plugged into an outlet and facing my bed. I figured my mom may have accidentally plugged it in while organizing the cables because she likes to make sure the cables look neat.

Found the camera again placed on top of my drawer and plug in again, this time facing my desk so I know it's intentional.

I'm irritated and feel disrespected. I'm pretty sure this is illegal. Apparently they haven't been happy with the people I've been talking to because they think my friends are the reason behind my lack of faith in them, and not their own actions. So I guess they think that justifies planting cameras in my room.

I think they're trying to listen in on my conversations. I didn't confront them. I hid the camera.

Yeah, they really shouldn't... they didn't do it to me as a kid. But I've always been a "good kid" until recently I guess, since I've given up on everything, they don't appreciate my apathy and attitude that I give them.

Then turn the camera on and say all kinds of horrible things about your parents during your "call" just to see if you can get a reaction out of them when they see their footage. If you do this and get a reaction, then they will have confirmed your suspicions and will have to explain their actions once you confront them.

At the end, you can say, "Gotcha!" just to mess with their heads if you want to. Your parents seem like the kind of people who would do it to their own kid once they stop playing their manipulative mind games, so giving them a taste of their own medicine might give them a reason to back off.

Do you believe that something in particular has happened in order to make your parents feel the need to record you..? I mean, we don't know anything about your situation, but one example could be that you are always outside until late each day, so they want to see when you come home. You are 26 years old, though, so I see no reason for them to be worried for you in that way.

You could get yourself an extension cable and move the camera to your parents' room while they are away at work or something, and let the camera record them, and then you see what they think about that...

Since you have found the camera, they probably know that you know that they are recording you.

I mean, we don't know anything about your situation, but one example could be that you are always outside until late each day, so they want to see when you come home. You are 26 years old, though, so I see no reason for them to be worried for you in that way.

I'm sorry that happened to you and I can't imagine what it must be like to go through something like that, but it shouldn't give them the right to run your entire life or film you in secret for not letting them do it their way. Maybe they think they're doing what's best to help you recover from the injuries you suffered, I don't know. It might be worth asking them why they're doing it just to see how they're justifying it.
