My method of SH doesn’t leave marks, does that make it an invalid form of SH?

title explains basically everything, but yeah. I cut the insides of my thighs and my wrists pretty often, but never enough to draw blood. They typically leave red marks for maybe a day or two before disappearing. Does that make it invalid, or does it not matter?
The psychological impact of self harm matters far more than the severity of physical damage. I understand the worry of being invalid, I worry about it too, but you don't have to draw blood to be valid, or even use blades.

i don't believe in the "validity" of self harm, i think that's harmful to people. you're cutting yourself to deal with something, that's valid enough. I draw blood all the time, and still it's not deep enough for most of them to scar. That doesn't mean that the other day when I slashed up my thigh because i couldn't find another way to calm down that it was "invalid"
