Discussion My grandma just died

And my dad didn't cry at all. A few snuffles but that's it. I think my parents don't grieve the same way as others cause my mother's brother also died of a drug overdose and she never shed tears.

Is it safe to say that they'll accept my suicide? It's not natural compared to the death of my grandma but they don't really seem to be emotional over death. Hell, my mother cried more when she found out my father cheated on her than her brothers death

Honestly, there is no way to say how they will or will not act. Also, people grieve in their own way. Some hold it in and others let it flow and others wait till they are in private. Plus some are delayed by the shock value and so forth. This is a complex issue as we are all so different from each other. It is really hard to know truly what is going on inside someone else's head. As many members here know, people can put on a great front.

I am very confident though that you are special to someone and that you will be sorely missed by many.

When my grandmother died in 2017 and I didn't cry either even though she was the closest person in my life. I just remember having very bad anxiety. People show their emotions in different ways not always through tears.

I'm sorry for your loss tho
Sometimes certain things don't move us that much and make us overcome with emotion, depends on all this kind of circumstances.
But those things that happen incidentally (like the cheating part) is something you don't ever expect to happen to you and i guess it touched your mother in a sense where it hurts more. I'm not convinced tho she is not gonna cry over your death, you are her daughter after all, but i guess it varies.
