Xanax is a short acting benzo and hard to OD on. THey'd need the opiate for the actual OD and the benzo for falling asleep through the body's rejection of the drugs.

PERSONALLY I find it sad because today (the 28th) is the 4 year anniversary of my best friend killing herself. It still hurts. :(

It's not by itself - people rarely die from overdosing on benzodiazepines on their own. Studies of xanax overdoses have shown very few deaths comparatively, even though it is more toxic in overdose compared to other benzodiazepines. The opiates and maybe alcohol could make the difference. Benzodiazepines are not very lethal on their own, and the ones associated with the most completed suicides tend to be prescribed less. However, combining it with opioids is more dangerous.

It's likely to result in a hospital admission. Many benzo ODs don't even result in an ICU stay, and there is an antidote as well.

I'm really sorry that you and your friend are going through this.

I had a friend who was a heroin addict who overdose on Xanax opioids and liquor. They will strongly intensify each other, while individually they are hard to od on. Xanax by itself is nearly impossible to od on. Opioids are generally very hard unless it's extremely potent-like Fetanyl= 100x the potency of morphine or Carfentanil which is up 100 thousand as potent as morphine.

I believe they're 2mg bars. Mixing that with booze may do the trick.
I was into zanny's big time. I would always drink on them but I was
never contemplating ctb while I was using. I guess I was happier
being a drug addict.

If he truly wants to ctb, no matter how many doctors he goes to, he will still attempt it over and over. I know this from full blown experience. Make him talk to you. Let him vent it completely out of his system as many times as he needs to. Tell him there is hope. Ask him to look on here for recovery. That's the only way you can help him is to hear him.

I use to pop up to 10 xannys at a time with my alcohol. Not anymore though.

I took 60 2mg pills and half bottle of rum... and I'm still here to tell the tale although I don't remember anything for three days.
