If you think they might have done something without thinking, on impulse, and you know where they are, maybe you should just call 911. They should go and check on them just to be sure.

Can you ask your friend to contact a Mod and tell them what's happening? Ask your friend to share any private messages with them, so they can look into it.

Are there any helplines or other support in real life that your friend would be willing to contact, if they won't talk to you?
