Help My friend gave me a deadline

My friend has always been suicidal but this time I think it is serious, he just gave me a deadline. Honestly, I was never able to go through his fortress and understand him. He is the most beloved in our group of friends, we don't want to lose him, but don't know about his inner turmoil. If he is serious about the deadline I'm going to be there for him, but what else can we do?
