Is anyone else having a similar experience?

Any tips for breaking this bad "habit"?

I just have no energy.

Any advice would be welcomed.

I sometimes call the Samaritans and that can help me get out of bed.

I'm currently in bed. The only thing getting me up is needing the loo. I'm telling myself I'll go for a walk, I just hate the suicidal thoughts when I walk.

In the past, certain pills have got me up. Modafinil, you can order it online, can be helpful. Lyrica used to help me. Weed still helps me just a little, it's why I showered yesterday.

Hello Jem.

Yeah, I got up earlier to go to the toilet, then again to brush my teeth.

I'm not even sleeping when in bed (insomnia) so I'm just laying there.

I finally got up about half an hour ago, wet my face and hair, and sprayed a bit of deodorant on. Haven't bathed since Wednesday.

I don't like this.

I basically spend 23 out of 24 hours every day in bed, in my own fucking filth. I can only manage to shower and brush my teeth every 4-5 days. Otherwise I only get up to eat or use the toilet. I am starting a new job tomorrow so hopefully that will force me to take care of myself every day, or at least until I get burned out and quit.

If you haven't tried already, I guess a med that also helps with sleep as well as maybe depression . I'm sitting on my prescription for olanzapine/fluoxetine at the moment. Partly cos I need to order some stuff to ctb first in case I get worse. Quietipane is the other one…Mirtazapine.

Insomnia: one of the many proofs that this is a malevolent universe

Thank you. I am basically at rock bottom right now mentally and my appearance has suffered as well due to the neglect, but I hope I can somehow function and not have a mental breakdown or something on the job.

I'm on 45mg Mirtazaping, 15mg Olanzapine.

They used to knock me out, but now my body is just used to them.

Some ideas:
- Keep a bottle of water next to your bed. If you drink it then at some point you'll have to get up
- Personally I think having some structured stuff helps since it makes me get up to go to work/school but I also know it's a lot of energy to get to the point where you need to go to work/school :(
- Wait it out. Sometimes I spontaneously just get more energy (or at least enough to get out of bed and do some basic things again)
- One other thing: I remind myself that I don't actually have to be doing well. I just have to be able to pretend well enough until I've reached a point where I can CTB. Sometimes pretending is easier than doing the real thing. Besides, you have to pretend well enough to avoid getting sectioned and to do things like acquire supplies if that's your goal.

Just my thoughts, but it's rough ngl. Good luck anyways

Depression keeps me in bed 4 very long periods of time. I need help and havent gone for it. I do push myself to shower and work several 12hr shifts per week. But I still find myself in bed otherwise. My lack of hygiene is awful

Keeping to a regular waking up/ sleeping pattern I think is supposed to help. I struggle with that to be honest. I used to be so good at getting up early but I really struggle now and I work from home- so- there isn't the same pressure. I think getting up early is good though- means you'll be tired at night. Obviously- try not to nap during the day.

Do you have stuff you have to do? Work or study? I think sometimes having genuine pressures can help to motivate us. For me, the fear of failure tends to pressure me into stuff.
