I don't mean to oppose sleepydog's experience because its absolutely valid as we all will react to things differently. However, as someone who was also very worried about this due to my 15+ year chronic illness and being on many medications at the moment, I kept an eye on threads of people reporting their meto trial experiences. I would say the majority are fine, a few people will report some light nausea and dizziness that goes away. But then there are a few that have really bad reactions, esp increased anxiety. I don't know what the shared commonality is there, maybe some drug interaction, genetic predisposition, state of mind? No idea.
I tried 5 mgs first and got a tiny bit of dizziness for a few mins, which quickly went away. A few days later tried 10mg, and noticed nothing. So I guess I'm in the lucky group, but just wanted to ease your mind that you may be too. And I def agree, everyone should test it out beforehand due to these different results.
RE: drug tapering. - Yea, its a real pain in the ass. They had me on an antipsychotic, antidepressed, antiepileptic and antianxiety meds all at the same time bc I was told I was Bipolar.. took over a year of to wean off, doing it one drug at a time, b/c turns out I didn't have bipolar, just Lyme Disease. It was miserable.
