OMG I know exactly how you feel. I've had my girl for 14 years. I just found out that she has liver cancer and is dying. I'm waiting for her to go so I can go with her. She loves me unconditionally and in 14 years she has never rejected me. I can't say that for the two legged animals I've dealt with.

cats have always been the companions i keep closest to me, so i definitely agree with you on this. they're calming and just petting them can release the happy chemicals our brains produce, as well as how they purr as a way to heal you. no matter what i'll never have a reason to hate cats

Animals are always the best. Whenever I'm crying around my dog, she always looks at me and comes to cuddle with me. She cares more about me than anyone else in my life.

Pets don't expect anything from you, they don't care if you're ugly, socially awkward, annoying, etc.. You're their whole world and they love you regardless. It's nice to feel wanted from anything living, doesn't need to be a human.

If I ever grow up and live on my own, I think I'll get a cat for this exact reason.

my cats are the only reason i'm not dead. the last time i got really close to CTB i stopped because i realized the EMTs carrying my dead body out probably wouldn't care if the cats got out... I don't trust them with anyone else so rehoming is not an option.

I am going to put mine in cages. And have a friend come and get them. And adopt them out. It's so hard for me to do this. But it's my only choice for them.
