All I seem able to do is drink and post on here.

Any tips you guys can give me on how to get a level of functioning back which would enable me to actually carry out my plan? I'm so overwhelmed with all that I have to do before I go.

HELP!

I feel the same way. I don't think I'm going to be much of any help and I'm probably the least person you'd like to hear from. I try not to do everything at once because it's daunting and stressful, so I focus on doing one thing at a time. And I try not to feel like a failure if it doesn't get done--this is oftentimes unsuccessful and it usually ends in self-loathing. It's not easy. I can barely function myself.

Try breaking your goals down into bite-sized pieces. As small as you need to to make them manageable. Taking a shower can be a goal. Downloading a form. Looking something up.

the only way to improve your motivation is stimulant meds lol! or to change the quality of your internal dialogue. But the catch is that if you work at doing this daily it might make u feel better to the point u don't really want to ctb. I didn't know this for a long time that I had unconscious thoughts that were killing my motivation until I started interrupting with like 10 to 15 mins a few times a day relistening to positive affirmations I had made in my fone with my voice. Basically u tell yourself what u want yourself to do, it doesn't have to be cheesy unbelievable affirmations that ure mind will want to reject anyway. But your mind will not respond to anything negative so it has to have a positive type of push to it. It won't work if u tell yourself I'm not going to be lazy today for example. It will respond to something like. I want to feel more motivated and energetic today. If u keep relistening to this many times your brain will unconsciously start to try to get motivated without u really trying. But it's called neuro linguistic programming. You can gently brainwash yourself to get yourself to think in more helpful ways. It interrupts the negative inner critic that keeps u feeling stuck. It takes a few days of working at it and repeat repeat listening to affirmations but it does work. Your brain begins to silence the negative and refocuses to get u to be able to function more. I repeated each affirmation 4 times per affirmation and named each of them. So i know which ones worked and which ones weren't being received well. U won't be perfect at coming up with them at first it takes a little practice. Within two weeks I noticed a shift in my thoughts.

I can help u formulate how to word them bc it's all in the wording. To bypass the inner critic. I had decided to start doing this again bc I'm trying to get myself into trucking school lol! I had stopped doing this work and after awhile I slipped back into negative thoughts but if I would have stuck with it longer it might have caused more lasting results. I stopped too soon after like 3 or 4 weeks. For those of us who were conditioned into negative thinking over our entire childhood it takes time and to recondition those thought patterns. 90% of watever we think today will be wat we think tomorrow. This is why interrupting and changing the quality of thoughts can make such a difference.

I would suggest getting some short term motivation (everyone gets motivation in different ways and not all motivating things are the same to different people). Just get enough motivation to be cognizant to plan and make sure your method is as refined as possible so that you will have the highest chance of success. Good luck!
