Greetings all:

I would like to ask for your opinion

1. What is the most responsible way to go? Namely, where and how should I do it to minimize the trouble I leave behind for the people who have to clean up my mess? Also, I feel like I shouldn't do it in my own apartment as it may create problems for my landlord. So I would like to do it somewhere that won't give anyone trouble.
2. What matters should I attend to prior to carrying out the deed? I know I should leave my will, but what else?

Thank You for your help.

This is something I find myself wondering about the most before CTB.

My plan is to sell as many personal belongings that loved ones will not find use for. I have plans already to terminate my lease as my CTB date closes in. My apartment will be cleared out before I leave.
A cheap plane ticket booked in advanced to another country and enough cash to last a few months to acquire everything I need to CTB with inert gas in a nicer hotel room while wearing adult diapers. (or fasting before)

I plan to isolate myself. I have made it clear to the few in my life that I will be going abroad to travel for up to a year.

Eventually they will realize my disappearance is likely death if the foreign authorities do not notify them before hand.

I hope you give it plenty of thought and find peace in whatever decision you choose.

Sending love your way, XO

Just sell everything you have (just keep the bare minimum to have in your house to not alert anyone before ctb, like a bed, a fridge, clothes, etc). From your TV to your car, the money will cover your funerals and maybe there will be some money left for giving to the ones you want to have it.

Once you collected all the money from selling your stuff, you can put it somewhere nobody can find (any "secret" place of your appartement will be fine, like a hole in the wall or in the floor, in your freezer, etc).

Use Gmail to send a delayed mail in which you explain where the money is, to the one you want to have it.

Then you can ctb anywhere safe and where people can find you later. Ideally I think going at work at night or on a Sunday if there is no surveillance is perfect. It gives you a place where no one will be able to stop you ctb, and one day later you'll be found by someone. If you don't like your boss, you even can just do it in his office after pooping on his desk. Let's have a last childish fun time before you leave.

Leave a note. Say what you want to say and what people need to know : you didn't suffer, you were mentally stable and this decision was not a crazy move, it was what you really wanted and needed since a long time.

I plan to do the a similar thing
I plan to isolate myself.

Same here. I have a history of just disappearing for months, even years without warning. I plan to travel to the other end of the country and along the way destroy all pieces of identification and scrub my phone so that when my body is found they won't be able to link it back to who I was. My friends and loved ones will assume I'm doing one of my many life "sabbaticals" and eventually just wonder "whatever happened to him?"

I think the main thing is to make sure you have protocols in place to assure that you are found in a reasonable amount of time. I have experience with a loved one whose mother passed and she was not found for 4 days - the body literally began to liquify (partially due to the heat in her apartment) and the hazmat cost to my loved one was almost 30K for the cleanup, repairs, tearing things out, putting new things in, etc. She did it in the bathroom...it was mentioned by one of the Hazmat people that had she been in the "bathtub" it would have been much easier, but she was on the floor and the entire floor needed to be ripped out. So...remember that if you aren't found for a while, depending on the conditions, it could be a major disaster for whoever has to clean things up. With that said, even if you CTB in a hotel wearing adult diapers or fasting, they are still mandated by law to have a Hazmat crew come in and clean, which is super costly for the hotel owners, not to mention the emotional toll on those who may find you (maid, hotel staff, etc.). I wouldn't trust a "delayed email", personally, because you just don't know with electronic communication. I would do a delayed email AND a hard copy letter or two sent the day before. Make sure you sell your belongings, and leave a little store of cash for anyone who has to make arrangements for you after the fact. Overall, it's a messy situation... There's no getting around that and it's something to consider as to whether you want to go through with things or not.

1. I don't know why do you think about your landlord, if someone has to clean up after you that means you have no right to CTB? If you had no money to pay for rent your landlord would never let you live for free even a day and even if you're daying. People are selfish and it's time to think about yourself.
2. You might want to hide or destroy anything you don't want law enforcement (anyone else) to find. If you have cash, documents or something value make sure whoever finds you will not steal it from your apartment, cause being dead you won't find out. The only thing I want to do before I die is to find a partner here so I won't be alone, at least once in my life.

So I'm curious about the $30K cost to your loved one whose mother ctb'd in the bathroom. Were your loved one and her mother cosignees on the apartment lease?

With regard to hotels, just want to clarify that they will also likely have insurance which will pay for the cost of cleanup and lost revenue after the deductible. Then for reimbursement of their costs and the deductible, the insurance company would go after the person who paid for the room, and if that is the deceased, then their estate.
