Four months ago, I started keeping track of my emotional state. Every evening, I would review the day and quantify my emotions on a scale from 0 to 1 (with steps of 0.25) - I have substituted the numbers with letters (A-E) & colors. Here are the categories that I use:
  • A - gravely depressed/suicidal
  • B - depressed
  • C - without any significant emotion
  • D - happy
  • E - great
The intermediate black lines indicate I have self-harmed on a particular day.

Key takeaways:
  1. I seem to be gradually getting more depressed. (Yay! ^^)
  2. The two weeks in mid-October were particularly awesome ...
  3. There is a negative trend when it comes to the number of days during which I feel neutral (C).

Yeah, got into a quarrel with some of my friends. Plus a bit of unrequited love for good measure :)

Nah, just a spreadsheet and manually collected data. The only bit of automation is having a Siri Shortcut that queries me for the mood every day at 10PM.
