since going up 45mg i have felt so much more angry towards the memories that have caused my depression as well as getting triggered by tedious shit i hate to see online like people's parasocial adoration of love island. i get angry before but usually just within myself and usually passes to tiredness without ever showing anything but since taking mirtazapine ive been beating my phone against my bedroom wall repeatedly. also been a pretty calm person and never felt the need to release anger until now. anyone had similar?

Had experiences of randomly triggering myself doing nothing on meds and proceded to trigger myself further by getting angry; It's like the meds amplify some repressed emotions, more relevantly, injustice.
Mirtazapine was supposed to give me more energy, and it did; but instead of motivation, it gave me anger.
And beating your phone on the wall repeatedly, relatably there is the constant urge to snap my phone to release anger.
Sorry that the meds are effecting you in this way. As headache inducing as it is to talk to the doctor about side effects, ask for a decrease if the side effects don't get better. Sometimes doctors increase doses too quickly.

there was a thread here in which two people reported feeling homicidal thoughts and rage.

only good thing that mirtazapine does for me is increase my appetite and knock me out to sleep. then it is always first thing after waking up where i feel the rage and angry thoughts. like i can literally just get up straight from bed and be immediately ready to beat my head against the wall
after knocking me to deep sleep at the start 5/6 weeks in and ive now spent the last 50ish hours awake. not sure if it is actually doing anything mentally but the drug definitely has affect on me. worth seeing what brings at least in keeping on them
That sucks. I don't think anyone I know who's tried it, including myself, ever felt that effect from it. Only effect it had on me was make me try to CTB irrationally through various OD's, now that I stopped taking it I'm able to CTB in a rational way through better methods. Didn't really feel or see any other notable effects from it. But then again I only tried it for around a month.

I ended up getting agitated on mirtazapine too. It was the first antidepressant i ever took. But after a month was extremely agitated and weened off of it

I was thinking about switching from amitriptyline 150mg to mirtazapine 15-45mg, because the latter supposedly doesn't have as much side effects as the former (i.e. excessive sweating, loss of libido etc).
But I'm so glad that I gave up on this idea.
Amitriptyline 150mg makes me feel serene and in peace, treats my Complex PTSD, not to mention it gives me the best sleep of my life while also helping to treat my ADD. I'll just stick to amitriptyline and tolerate its side effects.
This is my personal experience with a very similar drug, a tricyclic antidepressant called Amitriptyline.
But I'm so glad that I gave up on this idea.

I tried mirtazapine a couple of times, recreational only. It's very disgusting. Gave me vivid disturbing dreams too. Apparently mirtazapine dreams is a thing. Nasty stuff.
I only took diazepam recreationally once too. Without a doctor is really scary the things it could do to us, but in some type of way i felt good, i just don't know how it can help me if i search for help.
