Does anyone here suffer with migraines/headaches? I've had migraines for years and they've gotten more intense and persistent since my mental health deteriorated. Could this be related to my mental health?

I have daily attacks of migraines (2/3 a day.) Depression, stress and anxiety can be a trigger for me. Plus everything feels ten times worse when you're depressed doesn't it.

Oh god 2/3 is a day is horrific! I can have a few days without a headache then have a non stop one for 3+ days straight. Other times like you I can have several a day. You're right the Dr also told me stress and anxiety can trigger them. What do you use to help? I buy bucket loads of paracetamol with caffeine and codeine

Yes. I can often avoid them by severely restricting exposure to triggers but not always. Modern computer and phone screens are a big problem. Driving at night with bright lights all over etc. For some reason nobody has ever been able to explain, Ketoprofen, a NSAID like Ibuprofen, works well for them when about nothing else, even other NSAIDS and strong things, does not. It is OTC in some countries, prescription in others. Worth trying.

I have suffered migraines for years, it's hiding under my quilt and not moving type when they are bad. I've had a couple of cluster headaches also where if I had been able at the time I would have killed myself on the spot. They are nasty

I am kind of at the end of the track as far as treatments go. So now I just take some codeine and try to sleep. This hasn't been working well lately though. In the past I've used all sorts of different drugs to cope with them. Specialist treatments like triptans work for a lot of people, not for me though. I then started taking soluble aspirin for the pain and metocloprpmide for the nausea.

Caffeine is a major trigger for me so I avoid it like the plague, though I've heard other people have found that the caffeinated tablets help their symptoms so your mileage may vary.

Lots of people experience migraines in different ways so it's worth seeing the doctor about it, if they are bad enough they will likely prescribe triptans and or Meto.

I've had migraines since I was a child, every day for the last 2 years. My pain level on a good day is a 4. I'm trying those new cgrp shots, emgality. So far it's not helping. I have torodol I can inject myself with to save me an ER visit, but nothing helps much. I also have occipital and trigeminal neuralgia and they all trigger eachother. I know the headaches aren't caused by my mental health issues, but I know the migraines have led to my depression being worse.
