Venting mental hospital soon

I have to go to a mental hospital soon, and I don't think there's much I can do about it. The last time I went there, it was really bad. I felt so lonely because I didn't have my phone and I couldn't talk to anyone. Even though I know it won't make me feel better, nobody believes me when I say that. Last time, I just acted happy so they released me after some time but it didn't really solve anything. idk

my psych wards were for insomnia and paranoia, so i cant comment too much about the depression patients, but for me the best thing that kept me sane while in there was just being as nice to staff as possible and doctors for them to give the greenlight to get discharged, as well as basic games with the other patients if you can interact with them, or games you can play with yourself like counting things, or just using your imagination.

I hope you'll not suffer as much as the last time there. I would recommend trying meditation there for 10 minutes after you wake up and 10 minutes before you sleep. Also, if you're allowed to bring an electronic music player, you should take it with you: I would recommend you listening to the Ex:Re's album named Ex:Re and also some Japanese traditional music. If you want to vent, you may take a paper and pencil with you as well. You could also try dream-journaling which actually just writing down the dreams you had. I hate having to go to inpatient, outpatient things suck too but having to live somewhere removed from you're life is criminal. I don't know how people can think its okay to ship people off to hospitals against their will.

Those places just sound like awful prisons to me from what I've heard, must be horrible knowing that you have to go there, I hate how we exist in a world where suicidal people are treated like criminals.
