Why is it that any kind of mental health professionals never listen to me like I talk but they aren't actually hearing me I've tried for 3 months took my meds attended every appointment apart from the ones these people don't show up to with no call to say they aren't coming and I'm just left to literally rot. Other than my amazing counsellor the only other place I get support is from here. They just don't get it telling me to think of other things instead of wanting to end my life mate if I could of done that wouldn't I of done it already ffs how half these mental health people are still in a job is beyond me.when they do show up they act like they don't want to be there anyway. how many times I gotta try before I give up I'm sick of trying it's so exhausting it really is sorry needed to vent

That was my experience in a nutshell. It's their job. They do the minimum at their job too. They are people who don't know the answers and can't do a good job too.

Even if a degree is required, you don't know if that person was an A student who really learned or was a C student who barely passed. Ask yourself, if you go to a doctor... would you want the A student or the C student? Do you want the one who can diagnose in very narrow ranges of specific very obvious symptoms OR the one who can process nuance and context and extrapolate to real-world situations for more complex diagnoses?

There are probably good ones, it seems there ought to be just by the percentages... but how can you really know? Also, even the best ones can get it wrong and maybe you;re the one they just get wrong.
