Making nembutal at home in the kitchen?

In PPeH 2016 there was a chapter 16 called "Synthesis of a Peaceful Pill". I don't see it in the 2018 edition. I showed it to my friend, who has a degree in chemistry, but doesn't work in this field. She laughed and said that it's impossible to do this at home, except for you are Heisenberg. Since N belongs to organic chemistry and for its synthesis the very special conditions (pressure, temperature, etc.) are needed. So without deep knowledge of organic chemistry, you can try to synthesize some substance, but the possibility that you get N is almost zero.
But these are my friend's words. Not mine.

I looked into this. You'd need a non-trivial array of equipment, glassware, and the like, plus a decent background in doing organic chemical synthesis.

I agree. Making recreational drugs are already difficult, let alone a fatal substance. You need to be a super good chemist and have professional equipment, plus a sterile environment. If you are thinking of using N you'd be better off scraping the money required, than trying to make it at home.
Most choose cheaper or free methods because not everyone has that kind of money.
