trying my best

I finally made an appointment with a therapist for the first time since I was a teenager. I'm really proud of myself. I'm working really hard to beat this shit. Now I have a question for people who have experience with therapy.. I know that I should never tell them that I am actively suicidal, but should I tell them about my ideation? Or could that also end up badly? I would like to be honest so that he knows the severity of my situation, but I don't know where the line is drawn before they decide to section someone.

They'll only section you if you're actively planning to kill yourself in that moment or near future.

Don't tell them you have a plan for doing it. You can say you think about it but not give a plan or else they will call the cops and you will be put into a hospital or ER.

I also had my first session a few days ago. I think I failed in some things like speaking "causally" on the subject or being so concise in some things. At least the fact of telling me "to promise not to commit suicide while we are in therapy" made me hesitate. I also told her that I had no intention of committing suicide for now (lie), otherwise I would not have come; I guess that put her at ease (?)
Hope it goes well
