People don't understand how loneliness can also be depressing. Especially on all those 'big days' (like Christmas & New Year's Eve for example), but ironically, you're just alone by yourself, while (almost) everybody else seems to (somehow) get together with friends, their partners, couples, etc2. I think people often underestimate how loneliness can actually be one of the main causes or reasons for depression.
It's funny how people also seem to always assume that just because we look 'okay' from the outside (or on the surface level), then they automatically think that our lives is already perfect, happy, fulfilled, etc2. But sometimes (or often), that can't be further from the truth. Today, we live in a society where everything just seems so fake & superficial, eg: people just put their 'happy smiles' (or 'happy masks') all the time. There is even now a popular & hype phrase/term for that: it's called "toxic positivity", which is almost everywhere you see nowadays. It's just really sad that people nowadays just seem so 'disconnected' & can't/don't want to try to 'reach' & understand other people deeply & with some empathy. We are all just only human beings, after all. We do & can sometimes experience other normal human's emotions such as sadness, angry, frustration, worry, confused, panic, & even feeling down & hopeless. Loneliness is also part of human's emotions & experiences, at least for some people. Instead of judging this or that etc2, people should try to be more kinder, & show more empathy for those other people who are feeling alone or lonely, & try to reach out to them.
