In my opinion, having children is a heinous and immoral act that cannot be justified. However, most people in this society reproduce and speak positively of reproduction, and countries with low birth rates collapse and die out. In fact reproducing and having children is just a really common theme that's impossible to avoid no matter where you look. How do you stay neutral and blend in with society when everyone around you commits reproduction?

I agree 100%. I am an antinatalist.
The human race is biologically programmed to reproduce, it's in their DNA. Most people can't comprehend any other point of view.
We'll never fit in with mainstream society and will always be considered as odd, as outsiders.
We are in a minority for sure, but we are not alone.
Seek out like minded people, online or IRL, if you want to.
Beat wishes.

I don't really participate in society that much. I'm lucky in that I work and live alone. It's hard to know how I'd react now with parents. A lot of my friends have become parents. I wonder if I'd be able to keep my views hidden for that long now. Hatred of being born and being alive has dominated my thoughts for so long now, it's hard to keep them from seeping in.

I think probably the want not to be unkind would stop me from letting loose. But, I also think it would be difficult now for me to have a truthful conversation with any depth to it without some of it coming out.

I suppose for large quantities of time, it didn't really occur to me to think how pronatilist the world is. A few years back, I did do some work with other people again. Pretty much all seemed to have partners and children. It was really weird having to almost defend why I didn't! I gave the less antinatilist version but, maybe now I'd be more truthful.

The problem with the truth though is- it's worryingly revealing. To admit that I wouldn't want my child to struggle the same way I have admits that I'm struggling. Which isn't really ideal in a job. They don't like to think they've employed damaged goods!

I remind myself there are people like me and there have been people like me

I avoid becoming friends with people who have children if I can help it

Just stop being an aninatlist. Problem solved.
I think this is supposed to be a joke but it was insensitive to say in my opinion. Childbirth has caused so much damage to so many people.
