Don't know how long I can keep going just because I don't want to hurt others if I choose to end my own life. I really want the best for my family and I don't want them to feel guilt.

I have already written a letter to my family and while writing it I realized suicide is probably the best option in my situation. It wasn't even emotional, I felt it would be the most rational thing to do. I think now it's just a matter of timing and doing it when I'm ready and have least impact on my family.

Every day feels like a struggle with pain and suffering. There's no cure for my illnesses and my life quality has become very low the recent years. I hope my family will understand that they can't expect me to keep living like this for decades.

If suicide wasn't taboo then I think it would be better for everyone. It should be something we can talk about when life is unbearable and also an option for those who really suffers. Suicide can be a rational choice depending on the situation

From the moment we are born, we are emotionally blackmailed into a continued existence. Life is a perfect catch 22. A cruel joke with no punchline.

I hope you make the right choice for you.

The way I see it, even know others would be sad, it would be selfish of them to expect us to suffer for decades. We have the right to exit this world at a time of our own choosing, we have no obligations to stay alive as we did not ask to exist. I also plan to write a note to try and make those left behind understand. I agree that suicide should not be so taboo, others might be able to come to terms with it better if they were able to openly talk about it.

I agree. Suicide in the ancient world did not carry the same negative or "taboo" connotations as it does today. For Greco-Roman philosophers, suicide in correct circumstances constituted a "noble death." Socrates (469-399 B.C.) chose to drink hemlock rather than endure exile, a choice enthusiastically endorsed by most of the philosophical schools at the time. If carried out for country or friends, or in the face of intolerable pain, incurable disease, devastating misfortune or shame, or to avoid capture on the battlefield, suicide constituted a noble death. Death was not a source of terror or even dread.
