The idea of this thread came spontaneously. When we fail we might be sad. However completely avoiding such resolutions seems to be bad either. It is probably important not to be too critical of oneself when the aims cannot be fulfilled. Sometimes one cannot inflluence it.

My most important resolution for 2023 is avoiding another manic or psychotic episode. So despite the fact I am a workaholic I try to give me breaks and time to relax. Currently I give me a free week and it feels so much better. So much that it makes me sad that the breaks are only so short.

One of my biggest hopes is that my mom's health improves and she stays healthy without any stroke anymore. But I barely have impact on that.
I wish I found a gf. Though approaching this topic destabilized me a lot in the past so I am very anxious.

I hope I can avoid having to take the medication with nasty side effects again. I have found two with not that bad side effects and got more life quality due to that.

I try to maintain my weight. I should not lose more of it. Though I also don't want to gain weight.

Some other resolutions: Reading more David Foster Wallace stories. Currently I read one and I have to say giving my brain a break of 24/7 politics can be relaxing. I bought me two books for Christmas.

So I share some tips for good resolutions.. They should be precise, not too many of them at once, they should be realistic, share it with other people and check the aims from time to time.

I always try to be optimistic when a new year approaches. So even though I'm tired, and tired of "living for others", I want a new lease on life. I want a world that puts love and humanity first. I think all people need to feel that they are valued for who they are.

We must take better care of each other in the future.

I don't have to opt out of life if life is good.

For me it is difficult to think about that, because I feel pressure If I think about resolutions. But I will try it.

My dreams would be: finding love, get a bigger flat, no thoughts about suicide/enjoy life.

My realistic wishes are: get invalide money and feel okay with that, feel joy with my kids, get less chaos in my flat. I wish to find help with my psychologists, loose weight, find a dogsitter. I want to feel less lonely, find some joy, feel less pain.

3) want less chaos in my flat

1.) Finally get my bachelor's degree.
2.) Finally begin a career I can feel proud of.
3.) Get fit enough to actually do the jobs I wanna do since they're physically demanding.

I'm really hoping that getting a job will uproot me out of my depression. I'm a bit skeptical since I've tried countless therapy and medications yet nothing has made me happy up until this point.

Despite having so much suicidal ideation, I still hold on desperately to some unknown hope that things will turn around. I'm hoping it will happen in 2023 for myself and for everyone else here.

1.) Be less generous (with money). I think there are other ways of showing gratitude other than meaningless sums of money in exchange for x.
2.) Stop fucking drinking. Most of this year has been a bender. I flew through handles of vodka like no tomorrow.

I'd like to CTB on January 1st when I'm able to access my SN again. I don't think I'd do anything else in 2023.

1. Attend a course for work, which opens up opportunities for me to do something I like and earn a bit extra
2. Improve my mental health, which I'm already trying to do, been on psych meds for over a month, also visiting a psychologist for therapy
3. Get good at playing guitar.
4. Find a circle of friends, and find the one, you know what I mean, guys

The first one is easily achievable if I put my mind to it. Second one is going to prove really difficult, as I still feel unstable from time to time and the old thoughts come back. The third one, if I put my mind to it I think I can improve. The last one I'm probably going to fail, I'm a pessimistic person but I feel like I won't break free from the chains of solitude. I don't know if 2023 is going to be my last year on earth, but I have to make really big improvements in terms of mental health and the loneliness thing in order for it not to be the last. If it is indeed my last year on earth then I have no regrets, I tried "fixing" myself at least.
