Links to sites and videos

Hi - had a situation today where I gave an opinion on a thread that included a link to video of someone cbting which resided on a site that for me was dubious in its content and reason. Looked in the rules and could not see anything relating to such links. So its possible that I spoke out of turn. My thinking was that an external viewer would look at that and associate this site with theirs and come to a wrong conclusion and use it against the site in whatever way they can. Just wondering what the mods and admins thought?
