we're all just in a trap in many ways, Every single one of us. Born into a shell, a life that we cannot easily escape from. Technically we have two basic options. Let life lead us to our demise (through natural or external forces) or take matters into our own hands (suicide).

I find it very "wrong" to bring people into this world and expect them to enjoy it. Expecting someone to enjoy this world assumes that a person cannot possibly generate their own opinions of the world, but rather simply take on the values this world has fabricated for the sake of finding meaning and perpetuating the species.

life is nothing but survival. You are working (I don't mean in a job, I mean you are exerting effort) for the privilege of continuing to work. I'm not cracking on capitalism here, I'm cracking on existence. What's the point? We're born, we procreate, we die. Oh yea, and I almost forgot; we suffer. The amount we suffer varies from person to person, but it's one of the few, if not the only constant in life. So yea. We exist just to suffer and procreate. Which sounds both pointless and idiotic.

As you age and your vision and hearing fade and the body becomes frail and your memory fails, by what means will you self improve.
You have to let it all go

Indeed, everything within the universe and even the universe itself will die one day.

biological immortality not likely anytime soon nor even within the next 30 years if even at all assuming it's even possible to not age or reverse aging

I think there's a good chance of immortality.
Where is the evidence for that?

What happens to you during dreamless sleep every night? "You" disappear for hours every night you don't exist for those hours of dreamless sleep. It's an illusion the brain creates that you do exist . You only exist in the story the software simulation that the brain tells itself.

What else more could a human be other than the meaningless thing they are thinking of at that moment?

"There is no whole self. Any of life's present situations is seamless and sufficient. Are you, as you ponder these disquietudes, any- thing more than an indifference gliding over the argument | make, or an appraisal of the opinions I expound? "

It just disgusts me how humans so harmfully procreate even know existing truly is the most futile yet so hopeless process of just waiting around to die. Under no circumstances would I ever wish to decay from age in this undesirable existence, having the ability to exist truly is just meaningless suffering and I don't want to suffer in any way rather I only wish for the peace that eternal non-existence can bring.

Life should be like in the Benjamin Button movie, being born old and rejuvenating over time, being able to apply the knowledge acquired up to that point in real situations and dying surrounded by care and love, not like now, when they abandon you in a nursing home waiting for your death to inherit.

You put succinctly into words my feelings exactly

I was chatting with someone in a reddit thread and made a comment with a similar sentiment, and someone else popped in and said 'if that's the case you should just leave then'.

Like dude, you make it sound so easy :ahhha: but yeah there's really a feeling of 'how dare you be ungrateful for being alive, you will enjoy life, every second of it!' No other opinions will be accepted

I personally think it's kind of noble, too, taking life into your own hands instead of waiting around for nature to take you, while wilting away in a nursing home

It is kind of cruel to expect us to be grateful for being born. I will never understand why some people think having children is the highlight of their life or the best thing anyone could do. I think procreating is just an ego boost for parents. Like yes that child came from you but you can't guarantee that they'll be grateful to you for that. I think it would be crazy if they were.

Every single one of your posts hits the nail on the head I must say.

I guess the best thing we can do at any given time while we are still alive is revel in the comfort of knowing that it will eventually all be over one day. Whether it's sooner or later. Thank god.

It's been said a million times. If I only had a quick, painless, nonviolent, and 100% reliable method I'd be out of here.
