Yea I use it sometimes. I don't think it cures depression but it can lift mood a bit and make u feel relaxed. It's like an opiate I guess. I use it on days I don't take speed to help with the withdrawal. But only like a teaspoon if that. I can't do high doses of it. I'll get headaches and get groggy. I forget the best strains. I have green horned leaf or something. It's an energizing one. I like the ones that give a stimulant effect.

Worried about addiction. I'm already a basket case if I don't smoke pot everyday.

I tried it. The highest dose I remember taking was around 12 g. It honestly didn't do much for me. Higher doses made me feel sleepy and sick. Anyway, it's now 21+ because I live in one the most ass-backwards states in the union: Virginia. I had a better experience with phenibut, which I can still obtain legally.

It worked for me, but only temporarily. Whenever I got acute suicidal impulses I took a few grams. Unfortunately, the effects didn't last long and I felt that it interfered with my pharmaceutical medication. I stick to my herbs now; they really work for me. I know that kratom helps many people, though, so I hope it won't be scheduled.

Taking kratom for depression is a bit like taking codeine for depression or something. You are basically numbing your perception of reality to some extent. This kind of thing is good for certain people. I'd probably use St. John's wort and lemon balm tinctures for mood if it were me, kratom can be addictive and is best left to severe pain IMO.

Personally, I think shrooms or ketamine hold better possibilities for getting out of depression, but it always needs to be combined with some other positive actions and done in a careful and responsible way.

The best way is meditation, this is the way for the determined person who wants a cure. I hear CBT can be very good as well. Maybe you have tried these things already.

I would literally take anything that gets rid of depression. I found Kratom did nothing for me at all (other than make me literally sick at higher doses!), but I wanted to see if it had helped anyone else here. I'd take numb...I'd take somewhat high - but nothing is helping that much atm.

Have tried both... the shrooms make me cry because they bring up past memories and make me cry about them - and it isn't in a healing way for me, more torture and shame around my marriage which has ended due to mental illness. They also make my stomach sooo uncomfortable. I don't feel better the day after them either - if I did, they would possibly be worth it, but instead just days of my stomach in knots and still really depressed - plus hallucinating. Not for me. I am all in favour of other people trying them though. I'm giving my left over ones to my ex. I also have a lot of LSD I don't use anymore, because it doesn't help me anymore, not in big doses and not in microdoses either.

The Ketamine - I'm not sure if it did anythnig or not - I was really depressed and bedridden when I tried it, and it's possible I became less bedridden. I didn't love it, and not desperate to take it again.

I don't know - if I'm well enough to sit and meditate - with the loud suicidal thoughts and high anxiety it was impossible. I'm now on St John's Wort and hte suicidal thoughts are quieter (though also quite decided) so maybe I could sit and meditate. There are very experienced meditators who have still CTB though - because meditation doesn't cure mental illness...But yeah, I'm all in favour of anything that works for anyone. I found when I was feeling better for two weeks (on Polygala Tenuifoila before it stopped working for me, like everything seems to!) erm that I got up and did yoga and loved it! Which is not how I usually feel about yoga with the depression. I have to force myself out of bed to walk my dog :)

Success today though - I am up at 1pm, and am looking after my dog today, so I will take her out.

Hope y'all have an okay day, or even a good day :)

Interesting, I haven't tried polygala.

You could consider using more herbs if necessary. Like I use the fresh tincture of American skullcap and it is a pretty strong anxiolytic combined with St. John's wort. Lemon balm, ashwagandha, etc.

Hope you have a nice day too.

I tried Kratom when I was already dependent on Phenantherene opioids..(around ~350mg/day Oxycodone). I also never tried taking more than 3 caps (3 x 500mg) at once. I didn't find it terribly effective tho obviously my results are completely invalid as I was using it with other opioids. I did try it once when detoxing & all it did was upset my stomach. I'll stick to the poppy for opiates personally. But I do support the AKA & hope that it doesn't get scheduled. I know it helps a lot of people.

Yeah it is good. I had it a few times, it makes me feel sick towards the end of its effect so I don't use it.

I have Skullkap and Ashwagandha - I have just taken them once in a while and not felt anythnig from them. Don't know if I'm getting it wrong - or just that some stuff doesn't work on me. The St John's Wort does help a bit though, and Siberian Ginseng as recommended by @Sensei

Heading out to walk dog and buy some more snake oil!

If I take 1g of ksm66 ashwagandha root capsules in the AM I get a profound anxiolytic effect in the PM. Skullcap we know from the Eclectic physicians tincture from fresh Aerial parts is preferred, I use that, similar for St. John's wort, but it's the fresh flowers. I take about 30 drops or so of those as a standard dose.

I am trying to get at nerve pain, same kind of drugs are used often. I end up feeling really relaxed..

Polygala Tenuifoila

Never even heard of this before. Did some quck googling. Some studies actually suggest that it has somewhat similar mechanisms and effects as ketamine. I don't know about that, but I will definitely try it. Thanks for the (unintentional) tip.

I love sharing tips! The brand I tried is Na"vi Organics. 2 of the happiest weeks of my life. Don't know why it doesn't help anymore...

The obvious, but not necessarily given, explanation is that you develop tolerance unusually quickly. Have you tried using anything again after a long break?

Yes, I have. Including Siberian Ginseng. It worked so well, but now I can't feel the effects. So trying time out to try it again.

It definitely helps my depression, and more so helps my anxiety, but I only take it like two times a week.

I'm to worried about being dependent on it and developing a addiction to take it more frequently than that.

I doubt it's liable to cause psychosis. Stims and hallucinogens (psychedelics, dissociatives, and deliriants) are more likely to cause such a reaction. The worst reaction I ever had to kratom was slight nausea and tiredness at a fairly high dose. Some people swear by it, while others don't get much out of it. Regardless, it's worth a try.

I've puked from taking too much kratom before, so that's a possibility.

The only way I felt anything from it recently is by taking the k shots or gold pills on an empty stomach. I can quickly get up to spending $60 at a time on it for minimal results.

I would love to try Kratom! But because I live in nanny state UK, it's prohibited! I think it would help my depression! I wish I could be of more use.

You can ship it discretely from legit sites in the Netherlands, where it is legal.
