Same, I gain comfort from the fact that if we become desperate there will always be a way out. Unfortunately I have an weak survival instinct and I probably lack the courage but at least we aren't trapped in this world.

Being able to think about suicide is like knowing that there is an escape pod which is always nearby, and can be used at any time. This way of thinking can be depressing if overdone, but can also be very comforting in a dire situation. If life starts to get too awry then...
