• Hey Guest,

We wanted to share a quick update with the community.

Our public expense ledger is now live, allowing anyone to see how donations are used to support the ongoing operation of the site.

    👉 View the ledger here

Over the past year, increased regulatory pressure in multiple regions like UK OFCOM and Australia's eSafety has led to higher operational costs, including infrastructure, security, and the need to work with more specialized service providers to keep the site online and stable.

If you value the community and would like to help support its continued operation, donations are greatly appreciated. If you wish to donate via Bank Transfer or other options, please open a ticket.

All animals possess a survival instinct, obviously.
Individuals without this characteristic would not pass on their genes.
Humans are no different, but we have reason. We are able to reflect on our existence and do things beyond pure survival.
Most of us know that life is pure suffering with some moments of happiness, but in the end, the math doesn't add up.
Most don't kill themselves simply because of the instinct, but several individuals have managed to do so throughout history and continue to do so today. This is due to our incredible capacity for free will.
Life is a prison, and death is the key to the gate. And we are the only animals capable of making the choice to open it.
Think of all the animals in nature; suffering is constant and endless. They only don't kill themselves because they can't even think about their own suffering.

There might be a little projecting here, most humans don't suffer all the time and we don't know when animals suffer but there's no reason to think they are more than sometimes

Suicide is not exclusive to humans. We could argue about the level of awareness all day, but the fact is that animals do kill themselves, or let themselves die.

Also, strictly speaking, suicide cannot be the "pinnacle" of evolution, as it goes completely against the purpose of evolution. The statement makes zero sense.
